At Diamond Sports we are dedicated to player development. We don’t care who has the best training center or fanciest gadgets. At Diamond Sports we care about supplying the best and correct information to your players so they can be successful and achieve goals with confidence.
There is no shortcut or easy secret to success in baseball. Success comes from long hours of meaningful work, drills, practice and quality instruction. Below is a small group of instructors that Diamond Sports fully indorses to help you down the right path.

Jay Garthwaite - Hitting Instructor
Jay is Head of Player Development at Diamond Sports and Head Trainier for the Senior Program. Jay was Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2002 out of the University of Washington.

Justin Gabriel - Pitching Instructor
Justin is Head Pitching Instructor at Diamond Sports and Head Coach of the 18u Bulldogs Premier Team. Justin is currently on staff at the University of Washington. Justin was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2002 out of the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

Garrett Patterson - Hitting and Infield Instruction
Garrett signed with Fresno State but ended up starting his college career at University of Nevada Reno. In 2010 he transferred to famous Lewis & Clark State where he finished his college career. Garrett worked alongside Bill Stubbs at Bill Stubbs Infield Camps and did team training and individual lessons at Varsity Baseball and Rijo Athletics.

Jason Salers - Pitching Instructior
Jason attended Pierce College but tore his UCL after having Tommy John surgery he used his time off to learn the exercise physiology program at Pierce and the specifics of biomechanics, how the body works, and how to train it to become a better baseball player. He returned to pitch for Pierce in 2009. Jason was picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies the spring of 2010. He plays for the NW Honkers of the Pacific International League in the summer. Jason is doing instruction at Diamond while he continues to work towards a new professional contract.

Adam Owens - Pitching Instructor
Adam played four years at Eastern Oregon University as a starter and reliever. Adam is in his 3rd year as a Private Instruction at Diamond Sports, 7th year coaching select and 3 years as the Single A Dallas, OR High School American Legion Pitching Coach. He has also spent three years as Assistant Coach and Pitching Instructor at Garfield and Tyee High Schools.

Matt Fields - Infield and Hitting Instruction
Drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays out of high school in 44th round in 2004, but opted to attend Green River Community College as a draft and follow. At GRCC he was named to the NWAACC All-Conference team as a First Baseman and was also named to the 1st team as a Freshman in 2005. Signed with Tampa Bay Rays in 2005. He spent six seasons within the Rays farm system racking up 83 career home runs. Named the #1 power prospect amongst the Rays organization. Most recently, playing with the South Illinois Miners

Brian Embery - Hitting Instruction
Coach Embery has thirty-four years of baseball experience coaching at NCAA Division II Emporia State University where his teams earned 458-320 record in his 16 year stint with the Hornets. A five time MIAA Coach of the Year award recipient, Coach Embery began his coaching career in the NWAACC at Big Bend Community College. Coach Embery is returning to college coaching this season as Head Coach of the GRCC baseball team.

Derek Jennings - Infield Instruction
During the last four years, Derek led the Seattle Studs to the NBC World series finishing second in 2008 with Derek being selected to the 2008 and 2010 NBC All American Team as short stop. Derek won most spectacular play award in 2007 and 2011. Derek played college baseball in Louisiana and at Lewis and Clark State. As a Bulldog, Derek lead the 2002 team to the 18U Senior Babe Ruth World Series and was selected MVP for the Bulldogs in 2002.

Jason Evans - Hitting Instruction
Evans was at the helm of the Kentlake program for five years where they advance to the playoffs each year. During that span, he posted a 74-40 overall record, guided the Falcons to one South Puget Sound League North Division title (2008), and a second-place finish at the state tournament (2008). In addition, Kentlake established a new program record for wins in the season with 20 and 19 Kentlake players have gone on to play baseball at the college level and one professionally during Evans' tenure.

Joey Swanson - Hitting Instructor
Joey attended Lane Community College before transferring to Skagit Valley College in '02 where he helped the Cardinals to their first forced playoff situation in the NWAACC. Joey has coached, played and umpired at the high school and college level. Swanny helped coach the Baseball Northwest Washington teams at the Junior Fall Classic in Peoria, AZ along with BBNW Washington and BBNW Oregon teams for the Pacific Northwest Championships. Joey has coached select baseball for seven years and is currently the head coach 18u Diamondjaxx and head trainer of the Diamondjaxx Organization.

Tremain Mack - Speed and Agility
Tremain was drafted in 1993 by the KC Royals but chose to attend the University of Miami where he played football, baseball and ran track. Tremain received Big East Special Teams and Defensive Player of the year on more than one occasion. In 1997 Tremain was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals where he was selected to the NFL Pro Bowl in 2000. Currently Tremain is serving as head baseball coach for Tyee high school, winning Seamount Coach of the Year in 2011. He also coaches Tyee Basketball and is the defensive coordinator for the Mount Rainier HS.

Chris Finch - Catching Instruction
Chris Finch is Head Catching Instructor at Diamond Sports. He was a three year Varsity player at Auburn Mountainview High School, catching every inning his senior year. Chris was also a three year 18u catcher for the Kent Bulldogs. He received honorable mention honors his senior year in the SPSL 3A division in a class with three division one catchers for his defense behind the plate. Chris signed with Green River Community College following his senior year. He is currently the catching instructor for the Rebels Baseball Club and Asst Coach on the 15u team.

Josh Evans - Infield and Hitting Instruction
Josh was a Varsity player at Kentridge HSl, playing middle infield for Coach Flanigan. Josh also graduated from the Kent Bulldogs program in 2008 after playing second base for three years on 18u team. Josh went to Pierce College in 2009 on scholarship where he played middle and corner infield. Josh took instruction from Tim Bartlett as an infielder with the Bulldogs and work alongside Tim as an instructor in his infield camps at Diamond Sports and other training centers. Josh is currently the infield instructor for the Rebels Baseball Club.
